This photographic project is a study of the interplay between water, light, and air. These three natural elements which we encounter on a daily basis can be easily overlooked. Yet, they are the building blocks of life. While living beings are more likely candidates for connecting people to nature, I hoped that highlighting the beauty in the dynamic interactions between the three elements would make us more sensitive to our natural surroundings. These sets of twelve images were taken in a period of ten minutes, standing in the same spot. The wide range of patterns and colors visible in these images, created by the interactions of water, light, and air over a short period of time and from a static position, speak to the animate character of the elements. The quiet, meditative spirit of the images mirrors my experiences in nature.
